I created this silly Monster Cake + Monster Cupcakes for my daughter's 3rd birthday! This cake was made from two 6" cakes (each cut in half to make 4 layers) and I used one half of a ball cake pan for the top of the head.

I used yellow cake and a milk chocolate cream filling. I created the "fur" with butter cream. The party hat is made from an ice cream cone covered in butter cream with gum paste accents. His mouth was also gum paste. I made cake pops on lollipop sticks for his eyeballs! The coordinating cupcakes were also yellow cake decorated with butter cream and gum paste faces!

My daughter loved them!

Monster Cake

Monster Cake

I made a monster cake for my son's 5th birthday last year. I made it with two store-bought cake mixes, and prepared the cake mixes as directed. I then poured the batter into an extra large cake pan (15 inch round?), and some into a regular 8 inch round pan.

Once baked, I stacked the cakes and frosted them with green buttercream frosting. All the decoration was done with pre-made fondant. The cake was a hit and there was plenty for all!

I was given this image on a napkin from a friend wanting an Alien Cake to match. I created a stencil from the image and painstakingly cut out the black outline areas with an exacto knife and then laid the stencil on the cake.

I then dusted it with powdered sugar which leaves the image on the cake. Lastly, I piped in the buttercream frosting, starting inside the characters and working my way to the background.

Since my grandson was having his birthday party in a place called Monster Golf, I decided to make a topsy turvy cake with a monster-theme design.

I made layer cakes, stacked them up and then decorated them with buttercream icing. The cake was finally airbrushed with the colors and I was satisfied with the results. My homemade Monster cake also turned out to be very tasty!

This Alien Halloween Birthday Cake is my 3 year old's birthday cake. I wanted something very different and unique, yet I wanted to stick with it being for a toddler. So, nothing scary, just fun. This cake turned out to be so cute!!
