Baby Einstein Caterpillar

For my daughter's first birthday, we used the Baby Einstein theme. I wanted to make her a cake that she could dive right into. I chose to make the Baby Einstein Caterpillar.

I baked a vanilla cake mix in 6 mini pie pans. On a board, I arranged 5 of them to make the head and the body of the caterpillar. From the 6th one, I cut out 2 antenna.

I then tinted vanilla frosting into the colors of the caterpillar - red, green, yellow, blue, and purple. I frosted each segment of the body. On the face, I used a little bit of the red frosting to make the cheeks. Then, I used a decorating tube of black frosting to draw the eyes and the mouth. I then frosted the antenna red, too.
