Cool Home Made Barbie Doll Cake

I used a box a Betty Crocker cake mix for this Barbie Doll Cake and made my homemade icing using 1 cup shortening, 1 stick of butter, 1/4 cup milk, ts van flavoring, and 2 lb bag powdered sugar. I baked the cake in the 2 qt. pampered chef glass bowl.

I let it cool for about an hour and cut a small hole out for the doll body i took the legs off, I read on here that they could cause the cake to break. The Barbie I purchased for it was to big since the cake didn’t rise up as big as I expected so I went to the store and got a smaller doll.

I made it for a small child at church and she loved it.

  1. Just thought I would let you know that you could also put 2 8-in. rounds under the dome part. it will make it longer for the legs to fit. Helps make the dress look fuller also. Then all you do is cut out the center for the legs. Or you can go to a craft store and buy the barbie with just the top half and no legs.
