Barbie Thumbelina Chrysella Cake
My grand daughter wanted a Thumbelina cake for her 4th birthday and she loves Chrysella. I purchased pieces to go on the cake from the toy section that she could play with after. The topper is solar powered so it moved when it was on the cake which was cool. My daughter wanted the cake in Green, orange, purple and pink. I used two 10 inch and two 8 inch round cakes. Frosted them with our favorite buttercream tinted in a green. I used 5 dowl rods in the bottom cake, dusted the center with coconut to prevent seperater plate from sticking before adding. Once the plate was in place I built a little knowl for Chrysella to sit on which was actually a block of green playdoh. I covered the playdoy with green leaves using a leaf tip and added drop flowers before sitting the doll in place. I decorated the top tier with a leaf boarder, drop flowers and roses. I then added the top tier before putting the Thumbelina garden in place, once again dusting the top where the garden would sit with cocunut. I used a leaf border on the top and bottom of both cakes and filled in the rest of the cake with a mixture of Roses, rose buds and drop flower which were dusted with edible glitter before they set. Once I was finished I dusted the entire cake with additional edible glitter.
