I know this baseball caie isn't a "Birthday" cake, but I thought it came out real well and was pretty proud of it. This cake was for my friends son's baseball team. It was their "Cake and cap day" auction with his Little league.
I love to make cakes and am always looking for new challenges. I was browsing through ideas and came across a few, and just kind of put them together. I thought it would be really cool to have almost everything baseball on one cake. Bat, Ball, Base. I would have like to have done a glove as well but really didn't have enough room. I had a little trouble getting the bat on the base, but all work well.
Well every team brought a cake for this fundraiser. The teams then got to bid on which cake there team wanted. Each team had so much money to bid on a cake. My friend's son's team wanted their cake that I had made for their team, but unfortunately did not have enough money to bid. They got outbid several times, and this cake went for second place in the auction.
I was pretty glad it went for second and it raised a good amount of money for my friend's team.
This Baseball Cake was the creation of my family. My son and my husband designed it and I made based on their design. My son played T-ball and this was my family contribution for the end of season party.
This is fondant cake and all small baseball players were made out of fondant. I did color fondant with gel type of food color. First time, I didn't plan to make those little players, but my husband suggested to add some people, so I made little boys with team uniform.
I used half ball shape cake pan that my husband bought for me long time ago. I baked two half ball shape cakes and used one for baseball, and one for baseball cap.
As always, making little creature requires a lot of details and I decided to add people very last moment, so I had to put extra hour. For the grass, I sliced green fondant with scissors and glue to the bottom with a little bit of water.
It was so much fun to make it and working with family members as a team was even more fun. On the party, everybody was enjoying looking/eating this baseball cake. That was a great end of season party.
I made this Homemade Baseball Cake for my 5 year old brother in law, he loves baseball. I made a sheet cake, half chocolate and half white. The baseball is a white cake as well. The icing is homemade butter milk, the field is a brown I made by mixing red, blue, and a little yellow. I'm new to making cakes and haven't took any classes so it just out of my mind and pictures I have seen online.
I was very impressed with the turn out. First cake I made like this. My brother in law really loved it.
This Baseball Birthday Cake was made with a white cake mix and homemade frosting. I am new at decorating but I had loads of fun. I found a diagram on line and used it as my guide, using Hershey chocolate candy bars pieces as the bases with mini marshmallow's on top.
I was very happy with the final result. I look forward to adding more of my cakes in the near future.
My 3 year old LOVES baseball so naturally this year we decided on a Baseball Bash Cake.
We used a dense cake recipe we found online, a fondant recipe we found online, and a delicious buttercream recipe also found online. The cake is filled with pudding and strawberries. The baseball was made out of a Wilton ball pan.
All in all my little man loved his special day and his birthday cake.
