Beach Cake

Beach Cake

I made this beach cake for my son's beach themed birthday party. I got the idea out of a magazine and just took it from there! I used a really smooth frosting that was easy to apply.

I used two 9in rounds to give it the height. I made extra frosting so we could have a lot of color. I frosted all the Bears in beach gear, the "sea-weed" is green frosting, and I put eyes on the fish.

This cake was a big undertaking because of the different colors of frosting and all the detailing. I recruited a friend and we had a great time working on it together.

I used Teddy Grahams, GoldFish Cracker's, Whoppers, Peachies, and Graham Cracker Crumbs. The cake was a hit!

Homemade Beach Cake

Homemade Beach Cake

I made this beach cake for my aunt who loves being on the beach. I looked on this web site for ideas and then threw in some things I thought about.

I started with the sand icing which is light brown icing. Then with a grass tip I did the grass corner. Then the ocean. For the ocean I spread it first then I just roughed it up a bit.

I crumbled cookies to sprinkle over the sand. I made a fire pit with raisins and candles. The beach towels are made out of fruit roll ups. I bought mini trees and fabric to make the hammock area.

This cake is very time consuming. So have some time on your hands.

Homemade Beach Cake

Homemade Beach Cake

This Beach Cake is a cake I did for my niece who loves the beach and her little puppy. The cake is a butter cake from scratch covered in buttercreme. The water is piping gel colored blue, the sand is crushed Graham crackers. The blankets are fruit roll ups, the starfish, turtle and fish are made from royal icing.

The 2 girls, floats, ring and dog are made out of fondant. Dogs hair was done with the 233 tip and buttercreme icing.

Homemade Beach Cake

I first rolled fondant over entire cake and then used blue color mist to spray on cake. I used white buttercream icing on half the cake and then spread smashed up vanilla wafers for sand.

The water on the beach cake is just blue buttercream icing. I used the icing spatula to rough up the icing. The splash is just wire with some rolled fondant.

All the items on the beach I just made out of fondant as well.

Beach Cake

Beach Cake

This beach cake is a 2 layer cake with Chocolate pudding in between the layers of white cake topped with Butter Cream icing.

Used glitter on top of the yellow to make the beach. This was for a 12 year old who loves the beach and loves to surf. Big Hit! Easy to do as well.

Beach Bug Cake

Beach Bug Cake

I made this beach bug cake from a Wilton 3d cake pan, using a combination of icings.

Meringue icing for the water and details were made with marzipan and assorted cookies, etc. Sand was crushed graham crackers.

It was a little sloppy but the kids thought it was cute.
