I made this beer bucket cake for Easter 2013. This is a chocolate cake coated with chocolate butter cream frosting. I used chocolate and tiramisu wafers around the cake to make it look like a bucket. On top of the cake I placed some liquor chocolate bottles.
To make the ice I used clear candies and sugar crystal cubes. Before serving, added few fresh lemon slices to decorate. The red ribbon and bow is from my Christmas gift pack leftovers, just used it up.
Coolest Easy Homemade Budweiser Cake
I made this easy beer cooler Budweiser cake for a friend’s husband birthday party. The cake was made of simple white cake.
For the cooler I used a 2 1/2 sheet (large) cake pans (Magic Line the best ever!) dividing both layers to create a four layer cake with butter cream frosting in between each layer this provided the height I was looking for.
The bottles were made of melted Isomalt sugar, I used a bottle mold purchased from a local cake supply. I tried making my own mold that was a scary mess, the ice I used sugar rocks instead of making my own ice another scary mess. The labels were printed on frosting sheets. The handles were made of fondant with a wire (20 gauge) inserted and applied to cake. Butter cream icing was used for the entire cake, my friend is not a fan of fondant.
Overall her husband, family, and friends loved the cake. My friend has now placed her third order for a cake.
Beer Cooler Birthday Cake for a 21st Birthday Party
I was asked to make a 21st Birthday cake for my son’s friend. He wanted me to somehow use beer bottles in the cake idea. Between him and I we came up with a cooler filled with beer. We tried to also make jello shooters (with Vodka) but they did not get hard enough to represint ice cubes so they look more like water in the cooler. The girl the cake was for wanted a multi-colored cake so each layer in the cake is a different color. I used Betty Crocker butter reciepe cakes because that is my son’s favorite. When I made each cake mix I put food color in it to make the different colored layers. I made 4 sheet cakes frostinged each one and lay them on top of each other. On the top one I cut a square in the top to make the opening of the cooler. I used the smaller 8oz bottles of beer because the cooler was not normal size. I used buttercreme frosting to cover the intire cake. I used a champaigne glass to make holes for the beer bottles and whala! A 21st birthday cooler cake.
