I made this Belle Cake for my friend who loves Princess Belle. The cake was 3 tiers of chocolate cake! I made the bottom 2 in 8 in. pans and let them cool. I made the top layer a mini cake for my friend to have all to herself.
I let them cool and frosted them with chocolate frosting. I then rolled pink fondant onto the 2 bottom layers. I placed the individual layer on top and covered it with pink fondant also. I made Belle out of different colors of fondant 2 days before the party. I did this so she would have time to harden.
I cut out her fingers with a very sharp knife and all jewelry was edible. Her eyes, nose and mouth were also made with fondant. I made the hearts out of fondant with mini cookie cutters and glued them on with buttercream frosting.
I went on Coolest-Barbie-Cakes to get ideas and just from that designed my own Princess Belle Birthday Cake. I went and bought the Wilton Barbie Cake Mold and made that, then cooled it.
Frosted it with Wilton Icing then colored the fondant and laid it on the cake, then cut a small hole at the top to put the barbie in later. Then took piping gel and added sparkles and designed the swirl on the dress with any metal shinny thing you can find to resemble the jewels.
Then I popped the legs off her Bell doll and wrapped the bottom dress with saran wrap the bottom of her dress so I could keep the original design of Bell. Then put the Barbie of Bell in the cake and fix everything.

This Belle cake for my daughter's 4th birthday party. I used a 10 inch round base, (2) 6 inch rounds and a cake made in a Pyrex bowl(on top) for the skirt. The cakes were strawberry and red velvet boxed cakes.
I put a whole Belle doll in the center of the cake (press wrap around the legs). I kept the top part of the original dress on the doll by detaching it from the skirt with a seam-ripper. I had to put extra frosting around her waist to cover the insertion point.
The detailing on the skirt was made with a rose tip and dots were placed at every upsweep of the "ruffles". The detailing on top and bottom of the 10 inch round was done with a star tip.
