The cake! :)
I made this cake for my Blue's Clues-obsessed son for his third birthday. It was a vanilla cake frosted with buttercream icing. I kind of made up the design, I wanted it to be "summer-y" so I copied freehand (with icing) onto the cake a picture of Blue from one of his Blue's Clues books, and added graham cracker crumbs for the sand. The beach ball was also made in icing to add to the summer theme. For Blue, I made the outline of her body in dark blue and filled it in with light blue icing with a star tip. Her eyes are little marshmallows. I cut them in half so they didn't pop out too much. I made a star tip border around the top and bottom of the cake, and I made pawprints in dark blue and light blue buttercream icing along the side of the cake and also on the base. This was one of my first "decorative" cakes I've made, and it was much easier to make than I had expected. :) My son loved it too!
