I made this Blues Clues Birthday Cake for my grandson's first birthday. I combined 2 themes - Blue from Blues Clues and the first birthday Prince. I baked a homemade white cake and iced the entire cake with white buttercream icing.
I printed coloring book pages of Blue and used the copier to resize them to fit. My handy husband drew the picture of Blue wearing his Prince crown onto the cake. I filled in with white buttercream icing tinted 2 shades of blue.
I used the star tips to give texture to Blue's coat. I added glitter to the spots and paws, but it didn't show up as good as I had hoped. The crown Blue is wearing looks almost exactly like the one I bought my grandson to wear. My grandson loved his cake!
This homemade Blues Clues birthday cake was for my son's 3rd birthday. I started with two ten-inch round white cakes (I mixed blue sprinkles in but they melted so I ended up with a blue cake!), stacked and covered with homemade marbled fondant. To marble the fondant, I just took a glob of darker royal blue and a glob of white and mixed them together until they looked "marbled". I rolled it out and put it on the cake.
I made the figures out of different colors of fondant with buttercream piping features and added a fondant paw-print to the top. Working with the fondant is just like modeling things out of clay, so it was more fun than work! My son absolutely loved it and so did all our guests!
I was trying to come up with ideas for my son's 1st birthday. He loves Blue's Clues and I found some cakes on here that gave me the idea of a Blues Clues Birthday Cake.
I found a printable template online(dltk-kids.com). I cut the shapes out and froze them. Mixed blue food coloring for the icing and blue sprinkles for the spots. I sliced a marshmallow for her eyes and put Junior Mints on with frosting. Her tongue is made from laffy taffy.
The cake was a big hit, really easy, and just right for about 12 people. You could add paw print cupcakes to feed more guests. Mine are paper.
I made this Blues Clues Cake for my baby boy Tadhg, was quite impressed but looking at the rest of them on this site its not great!
I made a normal base a just cut out the shape of Blue and then iced with butter icing then piped eyes with icing piper and put half a raisin on top of each eyeball the tongue is a piece of cake iced pink
The paw prints are bits of cake and chocolate raisins and the name is made out of spare cake.
