My son's 2-year birthday theme will be Boohbah. After a lot of searching I couldn't find much for these sort of cakes other then a basic cake with the figurines placed on it, so I decided to try my hand at making a Boohbah cake myself. We are all so pleased around here with the outcome.

I first baked the body of the cake in a glass-pampered chef-mixing bowl. I used one box cake.

Once the cake had cooled I put the it in the freezer wrapped in 2 layers of saran wrap and one foil because I wasn't ready to frost the cake yet. I found that doing this made it a lot easier (once I was ready to decorate the cake it was firm and not crumbled or soft to touch like a lot of cakes tend to be that you frost that aren't frozen).

The frosting was just purchased at a local bakery because (I love their frosting for decorating - it's a basic cake decorating frosting that you can find on most any site). I used cake decorating blue gel dye to get my desired color then frosted the entire cake with a knife smoothing it as I went along.

Then I added the head, which is part of a Boohbah Toy (this of course is not edible). I added the head and hands (also part of a toy) and used hair tip to pipe blue around the entire cake making sure to even decorate part of the head by the neckline to look just like the doll.
