This cake was made for my son's 2nd birthday. We did a Bob the Builder/construction theme. I made a chocolate cake using the recipe off the back of the Hershey's Cocoa can, which I've used and liked before. I made the cake in 12 in. square and 8 in. square pans. I broke the smaller cake and set it on top to serve as a "hill" that was being demolished. Using construction toys we found at Walmart for $20 I decorated the rest of the cake. For the "dirt" spilling out of the hill we mixed mint Oreos and Nilla Waffers in our food chopper. It came out nicely and looked about like potting soil. I used Wilton's butter cream recipe to ice the cake. The "rocks" are chunks of brown sugar. We had a lot of fun with this cake and it turned out quite nicely.
