Brooklyn’s Cool Lalaloopsy Cake

This  Lalaloopsy cake was only my second attempt at making a cake with fondant, but it was my baby’s 3rd birthday so I wanted to go all out! I used a total of 15 cake mixes and around 8 lbs of fondant. The bottom was four 12″ rounds with 5 multicolored cupcakes baked into each layer. The top was three 9″ rounds with 5 cupcakes in each.

The cupcakes make the inside look like it has polka dots when cut. The biggest obstacle was getting the fondant rolled big enough by hand to cover such large layers. Lots of trial and error! The landscape pieces came along pretty well once I started. I invested a total of 9 hours and 2 mental breakdowns on this cake. She loved it!

  1. I love your cake and laughed about your hours spent and breakdowns over cake, been there! I think the stripes are so nice on her leg and wondered how you did it so nice.
