Why should you buy a used cake pan on eBay?

- On eBay you'll find almost every cake pan that has ever existed
- You know exactly what you're getting (and you know it'll work... ;-)
- You'll probably use it only once, so why even think about buying a new one?!

Solider Cake Decorating Ideas

This cake was for my nephew's 7th birthday. He wanted an army themed party so I started my search for cake decorating ideas.

I used the Wilton baseball player cake pan and turned it into a soldier. I turned the baseball helmet into an army helmet, I changed the expression on his face to be more somber, I changed the jersey into a camouflaged t-shirt, and lastly I turned the bat into a gun resting on his shoulder.

For the camouflaged shirt, I piped the different sized shapes with black then starred in with green and brown. This cake fitted in perfectly with the other army decorations that were used. It was a real hit!

I made this cake for a party we had for my cousin who just graduated basic training for the Marines. I used the Little Hero cake pan that can also make a fireman or Policeman. I just cut off the fire hose part and added the gun.

I went online to the Marines website for cake decorating ideas and found what a Marine uniform looks like and designed from there. I used Wilton buttercream frosting and mixed my colors accordingly with Wilton tint colors.

For the buttons on the uniform I cut a straw into small pieces and lay down on cake, iced around the straw then filled the straw with yellow gold colored sprinkles. I pulled the straw up and the sprinkles just went into place like I wanted.
