3 tier candy cake

This is a 3 tier cake. I used an 8x2, 6x2 and a 4x2. I did 2 layers of the 8x2 and 6x2. I made a chocolate cake for the bottom tier, strawberry in the middle and vanilla on top. Once cooled I iced them all with buttercream and then covered in marshmallow fondant that I made. I had to put wooden dowels wrapped in cling wrap between the tiers with small cardboard pieces to keep it sturdy and in place. Also at the end I put one long piece of dowel right throught the middle. I coloured the fondant and cut out stripes, circles and hearts with tools I got at a cake store. I dusted the pink and yellow with pearl dust. The jellybeans have toothpicks to help hold them in place. As does the #3 candle. I also did a ribbon and bow with green fondant around the the 2 bigger tiers to hide the slight gap. The lollipops are bought and I just cut the sticks down and pushed them in. My husband cut my daughter's name out of the coloured fondant also. It wasn't a difficult cake to make but extremely time consuming. It has taken me 6+hours, but totally worth it.

Homemade Kitkat Cake

Coolest Kitkat Cake

I was having people over and I never like to make just a cake. I've seen the Kitkat cake online before and wanted to make my own version.

For the M&Ms on top I actually used different candies as I wanted to get the colours I particularly wanted for the cake.

I hope you enjoy it.

I made a box cake but added an extra egg & small chocolate pudding mix to add a nicer texture & more moisture. I then frosted with a chocolate frosting on all sides & on top.

I found that breaking the Kitkat bars into 2 bars each made it easier to put them round the cake. Press the bars against the freshly frosted cake.

I finished with a pretty pink ribbon. The bow I made myself and I just used a little icing to stick it to the ribbon.

All in all a successful attempt as I got lots of ooohs & aaahs for my work.

I made this Twix Candy Bar Cake for a co-workers daughter, she loves Twix bars. I used vanilla sponge as the bottom layer, and chocolate sponge as the top layer. I wanted it to resemble a Twix bar when they cut into it.

I used chocolate buttercream icing as a crumb coat. The cookies are covered individually in chocolate fondant, the wrapper is vanilla fondant painted with gold edible coloring.

Homemade Pez Cake

Homemade Pez Cake

I made this Pez cake for my niece's birthday. The body and head of the cake were made out of vanilla cake and tinted buttercream, the Pez candy were made out of chocolate cake baked in a loft pan, and covered in buttercream and fondant.

It was a lot of fun to make.
