I am very new on cake making...this is my 1st attempt to make a carousel cake. As I don't have an oven at home (it's not very common to have an oven at home in Hong Kong!), I bought 2 Swiss rolls instead! I sliced the Swiss roll, put one slice in the middle of a plate, then unrolled another slice and place it around the first one to make a circle-that's the base. I used marshmallow fondant to cover the base. Then I got a toilet roll and wrapped it with foil. Again, use fondant to cover it and place it in the middle of the base. I bought some big straws for extra support for the top cake. Cut the straws in desired length and put them in the base. I made the top using the same method. I cut a circle cardboard that slightly small than the top piece and wrapped it with foil, place the top bit on it, then on the toilet roll. Add some final touches and that's it! My very 1st non-bake carousel cake!
