Easy Cars Race Track Cake

I ordered a cake from the grocery store and asked them to leave the top blank. I asked them to make two sides light blue so it matched the Dinoco blue. At home I outlined a race track with brown frosting in a ziploc baggie with the corner cut out. I crushed dark brown cookies (I used Newman’s Own Organic Alphabet chocolate cookies but Oreos would work) and put the crumbs in the race track. For outside the racetrack I crushed graham crackers to look like the desert. I made tufts of grass with green frosting, and on top of the grass I put candy-covered chocolate candies that looked like rocks. On top of the race track I put brand new cars- a Dinoco blue Lightning McQueen, and a regular Lightning McQueen.

On the blue sides I put Oreos with a white circle of frosting in the middle, so they looked like tires. On the white side I put the Newman’s chocolate cookies to make it a checker board, so it looked like the finish flag.

On the top and side edges I put red, yellow, and green M&M’s to look like traffic lights.

All in all it took about an hour, maybe hour and a half to decorate.
