I made this Homemade Cars Race Track Cake last year for my son's 3rd birthday party! It was a huge hit and he was so happy! I made 2 9 inch round yellow cakes and 2 9 inch round chocolate cakes (from scratch). After all four cakes were baked and cooled, I leveled them with a serrated knife to even out each side and then I iced in between the layers with buttercream. I then placed the yellow and chocolate side by side and cut about an inch from the middle to mold them into a race track shape.

Next, I used white buttercream icing to ice the whole entire cake. For the race track I dyed some icing black and put a small bowl in the center of each side of the cake and iced around the bowl. Then I used white good and plenty candy for the white tracks on the road. I then coated marshmallows with green sprinkles and stuck them into the cake with toothpicks as well as added some checkered flags. For the green icing I used a Wilton grass tip and pastry bag. The cars I got at Target in the party favors section and I used cars cake candy also.

My son is turning 4 soon and he wants another Cars birthday cake. I need to find something to top last years!

Homemade Cars Race Car Cake

This cake was made for twin boys turning three years old who absolutely love the Disney Cars movie. I sculpted the cake from two 10-inch round cakes torted into three layers each. I used a piece of paper (a big one) and traced out two 10-inch rounds on the paper and then drew a big "three" to use as a guide for cutting the cake.

I secured the two cakes together with buttercream frosting, and colored several colors of frosting to ice the cake with. I did the road with gray, the sides of the cake with green and white stars, and yellow dotted lines down the center of the cake. I also added rock candies (the chocolate kind not the hard sugar ones) and start and finish signs as well as a few cars and Mater towing a car off the road.

This homemade Cars race car cake was a fun cake to do and it got me several jobs of cakes to make for people even though I just do it for fun (for now!)

Homemade Cars Disney Birthday Cake

Homemade Cars Disney Birthday Cake

I created this Cars Disney Birthday Cake for my nephew. This was the first one I created, the year before it was Elmo and that was the first cake I did for kids and I really got into it. After that even went to school to be a cake decorator and just recently graduated. This cake I did while I was in school. He was into Cars so much. So I just had to make it for him.

I used the Cars cake pan and a 12in cake pan. Frosting, red, black, white, yellow and orange food coloring. I used the star tip and added strawberry filling. It took me a while to detail it but his eyes lit up so much when he saw it it didn't matter.

This year he's getting a Sponge Bob cake but shhhh don't tell him lol. This isn't one of my best cakes but it really meant a lot to me because it made him happy.
