I got the idea for this cake from this website. Thanks.
I wanted to do something different an this tier cake was my first.
All the cakes are made from scratch. I used butter cake, yellow cake, and strawberry cake. For the towers I used coffee mugs and tea cups. My cake pan size are not that typical,the sheet pan was 18x20, I used a 13" 10" and 7" round pans. The hardest part was crumb coating, placing the cakes in the freezer really helps. I used marshmallows for the windows and some border and wafers for the doors.
I had to travel with this cake. I put each one by itself on nonskid cloth and did the final borders with buttercream at the site. I started this project on a Wednesday and finished in time for the party on Friday. It took many hours but when my daughter saw the cake, the look on her face was joy for me.
