Princess Castle Cake

Princess Castle Cake

5 boxes of Betty Croker cake mix (yellow)
4 waffle cones
1 star sprinkles
5 whipped frosting (food coloring )
3 stickers from the princess collection
pink sugar (for waffle cones)
pink waffle cookies ( for doors & windows)
1 princess candle
1 princess crown
2 large pan

How to make this castle cake:

Cut the cake into four, put three together, the other one cut it in half then stalk on top the the rest. Cut in two and stack it together and that should make a castle. Make sure before putting the cake together.

Frost it the middle so it can hold, after that mix frosting with red food coloring into pink then frost the cake. Let it freeze for 30 min then frost it again then get the waffle cones. Put frosting then pink sugar on a plate then roll it. Be really care full then let it sit for about 15min before placing it on cake.

Then start decorating, that's the fun part, its really easy.

Castle Cake

I got the idea for this cake from this website. Thanks.

I wanted to do something different an this tier cake was my first.

All the cakes are made from scratch. I used butter cake, yellow cake, and strawberry cake. For the towers I used coffee mugs and tea cups. My cake pan size are not that typical, the sheet pan was 18x20, I used a 13" 10" and 7" round pans. The hardest part was crumb coating, placing the cakes in the freezer really helps. I used marshmallows for the windows and some border and wafers for the doors.

I had to travel with this cake. I put each one by itself on nonskid cloth and did the final borders with buttercream at the site. I started this project on a Wednesday and finished in time for the party on Friday. It took many hours but when my daughter saw the cake, the look on her face was joy for me.

Homemade Castle Cake

This cake took forever.. and weighed a ton! It started with a regular size sheet cake. Then placed 4 cupcakes around the outer edges. Then a round cake in the middle, and an even smaller round cake on top.. and then of course a cupcake on top of that.

I frosted everything white and edged it with chocolate to make it more defined. I stuck Hershey kisses ( the colorful ones) around the edges.. and upside down ice cream cones with little paper flags in them on the cupcakes. My son loved it and was very proud.

Castle Cake

Castle Cake

This castle cake I made with a lot of cakes. I used a ten by ten pan. I used a eight by eight pan. Then I used a few cupcakes. I used ice cream cones for the pillars.

I used a tooth pick to make the stone look. I used lots of candy. The finish product had gel icing around and coconut grass. This one was a lot of fun. I used straws for support.

This cake was made using the Romantic Castle Kit from Wiltons. I printed and laminated a picture of my Daughter so that it appears she is in the castle, she loved that idea!! The flowers are made from Royal icing.
