My daughter Angel asked for a Big Pink Castle Birthday Cake for her 9th birthday. The cake was pretty easy. I used 4 Valentine confetti cake mixes,3 boxes would do, had an extra cake that I froze. Cake took a lot of frosting. I used 3 1/2 cans for the crumb coat and to frost the cake. Gel food color was used to color the frosting.
The bottom portion of the cake was made with 3 layers and the top portion was 2 layers. I piped stripes of frosting on the sugar cones and coated them with sanding sugar. The cones were topped with conversation hearts. Pink strawberry marshmallows and pink sugar wafers were used to further decorate the cake.
My daughter and her friends were very pleased with the cake. It was very cute and tasty!
I made 2 white 8x8 cakes, 1 8x8 chocolate and 6 chocolate cupcakes to start this Big Pink Castle Birthday Cake. I stacked the white cakes on top of each other and then cut the square chocolate into smaller squares and stacked them. The icing is homemade whipped icing. I iced a sugar cone and rolled it in pink sugar and put it on top for a tower.
I decorated the cake with rings, bracelets and wands. The cupcakes on the side were chocolate with green homemade buttercream icing using the grass tip from Wilton. This cake was a huge hit! When my daughter saw it for the first time her eyes lit up!
This cake was very time consuming for me since it was my first stacked cake but so worth it!

My granddaughter Joslyn was turning 4 and she wanted a castle cake and my daughter wanted a Candyland themed cake. So I put both the themes together and this Candyland Castle Cake is what I came up with.
I used boxed cake and regular icing. For the towers I used regular ice cream cones. And for the peaks of the towers I used sugar cones. The trees I used sugar cones and painted them with icing. Everyone loved the cake and said it was really nice.
It didn't take too long once I got the knack of it. This was my very first cake I decorated.
This is a Castle Birthday Cake I made from scratch for my daughter's 3rd birthday. I got the idea for it by looking at several cakes on line. The bottom is a three layer cake and the top is a two layer cake.
The fondant covering is Wilton mix and the recipe for the cake and icing is also from Wilton's web site. The towers are made from jelly rolls and covered with fondant. The tops of the towers are sugar cones.
It was fun to make but took my son and I several hours to finish. My daughter was obviously very happy.
