My son was such a wiggle worm, for his first birthday I decided to have a caterpillar party. I made the round cakes using stainless steel bowls (I found in the pet department, used for water dishes).The stainless steel bowls cooked just as well as a cake pan, just needed a few extra minutes for the middle of the cake. I made two chocolate and two vanilla cakes. I colored my buttercream frosting with icing food coloring and piped the frosting on. I used gum drops for the feet (I just pushed them into the frosting) and marshmallows with a choclate chip for the eyes. The antenna was a red twizzler. It was fun to make and everyone was very impressed! The best part was I took the end cake off and it was his first birthday cake he could dig into! The kids loved all the candy on the cake!
