Scooby Doo Childrens Birthday Cake Recipe

This cake was made for my son's fifth birthday. The Scooby "plaque" was made using tinted white chocolate molded in the Wilton Scooby Doo Mini Treats Pan. The two-layer cake was made in a 12" square pan and decorated with buttercream icing. I used a childrens birthday cake recipe.

The lettering was made with blue tinted chocolate molded in the Wilton Numerals candy mold. The candy pieces were made well in advance of the party so there was little to left to decorate. Less stress!

My grandson Christian had his heart set on a Scooby cake for his 11th birthday. I made a 13 x 19 inch sheet cake from a childrens birthday cake recipe; found a coloring book picture and enlarged it on the computer. I used food color markers to transfer the outline to the cake and eyeballed the detail.

I embellished the clouds and grass with edible glitter (we like sparkly). I made Scooby Snacks from Nutter butter peanut butter sandwich cookies dipped in melted chocolate. It was a huge success with the grandson and the rest of the partiers!

I got this idea from another Mystery Machine cake on this site for a childrens birthday cake recipe and altered it to how I wanted it to look. I used a 9x13 pan and cut all four corners but cut the windshield part more so. Then I frosted it and used colored vanilla wafers for the dots and Oreo cookies for the wheels. My kids just loved it!

I rented a Scooby-Doo pan from a local store and bought my buttercream icing at the local bakery. I just used an ordinary childrens birthday cake recipe. I bought the Wilton coloring kit and used my star tip to fill in all the colors as directed by the instruction sheet included with the pan. It took me three hours to decorate it but my five year old son was very happy!

I used the Wilton Cake pan of this design. I used a childrens birthday cake recipe for a white cake. I then iced and decorated with a tri-star tip and #4 for the lines. (Hint: use corn starch or regular ole tap water to smooth just take care not to over do it). This was done for my boyfriend's 23rd birthday last year.

Scooby Doo Childrens Birthday Cake Recipe

This cake was made for my niece's birthday. I already had the Wilton Scooby Doo cake pan which I had purchased a few of years before so all I need was a childrens birthday cake recipe.

I used the pan insert as a guide but did not like their color choice of using white for the background so I looked at my containers of icing coloring and opted for orange; it went well with all of the other colors used and it was also very vibrant. The cake was made from Duncan Hines Super Moist cake mix and topped with homemade butter cream icing. Though I did not get to attend the party I hear the cake was a hit.

Scooby Doo Childrens Birthday Cake Recipe

For this childrens birthday cake recipe I couldn't find a large picture of Scooby-Doo so out of a coloring book I had to free hand it with tip 3 and filled in with tip 16. I love coloring so what better way than doing it for kids.
