Homemade Cigar Birthday Cake

Homemade Cigar Birthday Cake

I made this Cigar Birthday Cake for my dad's birthday. He loves a good cigar. I made a 12" square cake and took a 3" round cookie cutter, and cut circles out the the baked cake. I froze the 3" circle cakes.

I made a marshmallow fondant and refrigerated it overnight. The next day, I leveled off one side of each of the round cakes, so they were flat on one side and could stand on their side. Then, I spread buttercream icing on the top and bottom flat side of each circle and lined them up.

I colored about 3/4 of my fondant brown for the cigar. The rest, I left white for the label. I rolled out the brown fondant, dirty iced the cake, then laid the fondant over the cake and trimmed it up. Then I rolled out the white fondant and used a pizza cutter to cut the label out on the cigar.

I used red and black buttercream icing for the letters and the label border. This was my first time using fondant. I was very pleased with the outcome and will definitely be doing more cakes with it.

How did you get the icing in a light brown color?

I use the Wilton Gel colors. I added a tiny bit of brown and mixed in it, then added more until I got the color I wanted.

Homemade Random Cigarette Cake

My best friend and I were sitting at home wanting to decorate a cake, but we couldn't come up with an idea. So we were looking around and I had seen a pack of cigarettes and thought it would be awesome to create a replica and made a Random Cigarette Cake .

We started with base icing the cake. It is much easier to use a tip and draw a line where you want the different colors, then cover the cake with those colors. We then just tried to copy the cigarette pack exactly. For the actual cigarette, I took fondant and rolled it out into a cigarette shape. I then took a knife at the tip and make some slashes to replicate tobacco. I wrapped a piece of paper around the end and airbrushed in order to make it look like a filter.

Then I airbrushes the slashes I made to darken the tobacco. All in all, it was a lot easier then I thought it would be.

Coolest No Smoking Cake 2

No Smoking Cake

No Smoking Cake

My friend asked me to make a No-Smoking Cake for her father's birthday as to discourage him from this habit.

Earlier I don't know what to do as so far no one has posted in such a cake on the internet. It is My hubby gave me this idea to make a 3D cigarette on top of the No Smoking sign.

So I bake a 9" round cheesecake and a 8" sponge Swiss roll. I frosted the round cake with cream and the sign is make of piping gel. I cut the Swiss roll into three part with a shorter part in the center.

Then the center part cut triangle sharp. I arrange the Swiss roll into an angle sharp on the round cake. Then frost it with cream. Lastly I added cocoa powder as ashes.

When the old man saw the cake, he had a good laugh and said he is now too old to smoke. Everyone in the family like the cake.
