Clock Cake 2

Hickory Dickory Clock

Hickory Dickory Clock

I made this clock cake for my daughter's first birthday.

I made it using a basic chocolate sponge in a large rectangular tin. I shaped it by simply cutting with a knife in order to create the rounded top and indented sides. I made chocolate butter icing (with a small bowl non-chocolatey) and spread on all but the middle where I put the plain icing. I decorated it using Smarties around the edge of the clock face, licorice for the numbers, hands and pendant string, chocolate drops around the edge and a sugar mice to run down at 1 o' clock.

It's a really simple cake to make and decorate and definitely went down well!!
