Cole's Camping Cake

This cake was made for a friend's son. He was turning 8 and wanted a camping themed cake. The cake is chocolate with chocolate icing. The trees are sugar cones roughly frosted with green buttercream icing. The grass was star tipped, also buttercream. I used 2 graham crackers to make the tent and then wrapped it with a fruit roll-up for added color. The stream was blue piping gel and blue sprinkles. The piping gel made it really look like water! I made all of the "rocks" around the stream and fire out of tootsie rolls cut up into small pieces and rolled into balls. The fire was made out of pretzel sticks and the flames were icing. This was a really fun cake to make and the boys at the party loved it!
