Construction Mountain Cake

by Harmony M. Williams
(Mulvane, KS)

My son is really into tractors and equipment, so after looking at local bakeries and not finding one that was satisfactory, I made my own (with help from my mom, and ideas from this site). I just used pre-made buttercream icing. I made two cakes and froze them, then I cut one in half and put it on the larger one. I also shaved a bit off to make a slop. I died the frosting brown to look like dirt. Then I dug out a hole and used the crumbs to look like more dirt. I also purchased candy rocks, added some greenery, rocks on the side to look like a mountain and some tractors and that was it.
