This dinosaur cake is made with two eight inch chocolate cakes sliced and filled (torted) with red vanilla buttercream. I used green vanilla buttercream ‘grass bed’ for the dinosaur and edging on cake.
Yellow and teal fondant, dinosaur dusted with shimmer powder. Blue fondant No. 3 and teal fondant name on cake.

The trick to getting real red butter cream is to use Wilton No Taste Red and make it about 5 days before you need to use it, the color develops over a few days, also a dash of chocolate brown helps too deepen the color, just a touch though.
