Cool Homemade Minnie Mouse Cake

I made this Minnie Mouse cake for a friend’s little girl’s 2nd birthday. She loves Minnie Mouse. First I made a round Madeira cake and sandwiched it and covered it in butter cream. I then covered the cake in pink icing. I made some ears by cutting small circles and the faces with slightly larger circles and placed them around the outside of the cake.

I made small pink bows to place on the top of the head. For the top of the cake I made a large bow from modelling icing and left it to dry over night so that it held it’s shape before placing in position. On top of the cake I  made two discs for the ears and dusted them with black sparkly dust and supported them on the cake with tooth picks and finally I piped the birthday girl’s name on with royal icing.

I got a lot of compliments about the cake and the little girl loved it!
