I used 2 x 13″ sheet butter cakes and layered with chocolate icing. I carved the cake and used a template.

I then  crumb coated the cake with chocolate icing and covered with fondant. I made the buttons with fondant as well and colored them with food coloring. It was easy using the template as a guide to see how big the buttons were. Then I used a toothpick to make the x and the letters on the buttons.

It was a quick and fun cake to do. But as it is white fondant you can see every little bump on the cake. You can smooth that with a cake smoothing tool, but I don’t have one. I am still happy with the way it turned out.
