Homemade 1st Birthday Cake with Wilton Cake Pan

I made this cake for my daughters 1st birthday. She wasn’t really into any “characters” yet, so we went with the theme of the #1 and pink and blue. I figured something simple would work great! I just used a #1 shaped Wilton cake pan and then decorated in the colors of Butter cream Icing i liked. The Blue Flowers are made of Royal Icing.(I acutally bought the flowers from a small local cake shop since I ran out of time to make them myself) The actual cake was confetti just to brighten it up when cut. This was the first cake I have ever made on my own so I am glad it turned out as well as it did! This is a smaller cake pan though, so If you know you are having a big party or a lot of cake eaters…I would recommend making matching color cupcakes like I did to satisfy the demand ! Over all, with the exception of a few mistakes, (I am a perfectionist) I was happy with how my little girls cake turned out!
