Coolest 40th Birthday Cake

I used a 9×13 rectangle pan for the graveside, and a 9 inch round for the tombstone. I always freeze my cakes before decorating as it makes it easier to cut them and frost them.

I cut a groove into the rectangle cake to make a place for the round one to sit. I cut off about 1/4 of the round cake and set it in the groove of the rectangle cake. The hardest part of this cake was finding gray food coloring. I finally found some at my local Hobby store. I crushed up Newman O’s (organic version of Oreos) and put it on the graveside like dirt. I used a candy mold to make the roses. I used coconut colored green to simulate grass.
