Homemade 4th Of July Cake
This 4th Of July Cake was fun! I made this cake for a friend's 4th of July party. I used a Wilton star cake pan. The cake is covered in fondant (tinted in royal blue). I used a star cookie cutter and cut blue stars out of the cake which I replaced with white stars (using Crisco to smooth the cake).
I tinted fondant in red (tasteless red), rolled it out and then cut it into strips. I then rolled white fondant into the shape of a rectangle. I placed the red strips on top of white fondant, approx .5" apart. I rolled it out and cut it to create and then draped the sash.
