Aeroplane Birthday Cake

It was fast approaching my son`s 2nd birthday and as we didn`t have a clue what he really likes we were stumped. Then it came to us whenever he visit`s my sister`s he just loves watching the planes at a local aerodrome so the seed was sown, we`d make an Aeroplane Birthday Cake for him, then came the question 'but how?' So after long searches on the internet we decided to go solo and make it from scratch.

It took 2 8" square sponges and some careful cutting and we arrived at this cake you see here.
And the whole family were wowed by it and yes even me!! As its something I never thought that I could do.
