Amazing Homemade Angry Birds Cake

This Homemade Angry Birds Cake is an “interactive” cake that was specifically ordered by the young birthday boy! He had seen in online and wouldn’t accept anything else! (I don’t actually play the game so please excuse me if I don’t know exactly what everything is really called.) I made 2 loaf cakes and trimmed them to make the “hills” and iced them in chocolate buttercream. The beams are Little Debbie Nutter Bars. In order for these to stay put long enough to be knocked over, I had to push the bottom ones down into the cake and cut the top ones. They are secured together with icing.

The birds, pigs, stones and glass/ice blocks are all hand sculpted from fondant. I had to buy a wooden board for the base and cut it to 3’x1′. It is then covered in aluminum foil and then green icing for the grass. I dabbed a spatula around to make it stick up a little. The little boy’s grandma provided a catapult, but I believe a sling shot would work much better to hurl the little birds into the cake. He was able to demolish it, though, and had a blast!

  1. Actually, the customer provided a catapult for this cake. I would strongly suggest a sling shot b/c the catapult didn’t send the birds very far!
