Homemade Army Tank Birthday Cake

Homemade Army Tank Birthday Cake

I made this Army Tank Birthday Cake using a 9x13 pan and a loaf pan. I used vanilla and chocolate cake mix and colored half of the vanilla green with food coloring. I then spooned the cake batter in the pans, alternating the colors. This made the inside look like camouflage.

I used chocolate Oreos for the wheels and 1/2 of one for the opening of the tank where the duck sits. Black Licorice for the tracking, and an Oreo straw for the cannon. I glued all the candles to the little army guys' backs and found an army rubber ducky at Iparty that I put on top. I piped green, brown, tan and black using the star tip in various shapes on the whole cake and then piped grass around the bottom and topped it with crushed Oreos for the dirt.

I found a flag sued patch and glued that to a toothpick. It was a huge hit and it definitely made one little boy happy. Thanks to this site I was able to use many ideas to make this. Thanks to everyone out there who made my life a little easier!
