Homemade Baby Booties Shower Cake
This Baby Booties Shower Cake was the third fondant cake I have ever made. I got this idea for a fondant covered baby shower cake off the internet. The bottom layer is 9 inches and the top layer is 6 inches.
The booties are made from gum paste. I got the template for them off the internet as well, then had to enlarge the pattern to get the size I wanted. (I first made the booties out of paper until I got the correct size.) I had intended for the bows to have dangling ribbons, but the bows ended up larger than I would have liked.
Over all, though, I liked the finished product. The mother-to-be was able to keep the booties as a keepsake.
