Coolest Baby Buggy Shower Cake

This little baby buggy was designed with a little baby boy in mind! I baked a banana cake and let it cool. I made my icing with: 1 & 1/2 c. of Crisco, a 2 pound bag of powder sugar, and 1/2 c. water. I used 2 teaspoons of almond extract in my icing. I like the flavor it gives to the cakes. I tinted my icing pastel green, yellow and blue.

I iced the appropriate spots smooth, and then outlined my buggy with tip #5. I used star tips #16, #18, and #21 to decorate it. The handle is tip #12. I flattened it a bit with my finger dipped in cornstarch. I alternated colors on my border, using tip #21, for interest.

I tinted some fondant and rolled it out and cut out tiny hearts for the buggy and large hearts for the cake board. I applied them to the cake and board with a dab of icing. Then I used tip #5 and put dots on some of the hearts. This homemade baby buggy shower cake turned out super cute and everyone loved it!

I have made baby shower cakes in the past, but I really like this Wilton pan and I loved the way it turned out!
