Baby Einstein Lion Cake
I knew I wanted a Baby Einstein Lion Cake for my son's birthday, so I did a lot of research online and on this site. I used a combination of different users and my own ideas to come up with this cake.
This is a standard 1/2 sheet cake, which used 3 "box" cake mixes, and only required minimal trimming to level. I used the Wilton Butttercream icing recipe from their website. It is not the pure white recipe, but I sacrificed the "pure white" look for what I think is a better taste. It was "off white", but no one seemed to notice.
I then free handed an image of the Baby Einstein Lion I found online into the cake with a toothpick to outline it and make sure it fit on the cake. I then piped the outline of the lion's face and filled it in with a star tip, using a slightly bigger tip for the nose and mouth area, so it showed up better. I continued to outline areas and fill them in accordingly.
I was really happy with the results and the guests loved it.
