Baby Shower 3D Crib Cake
What you will need :
- plastic dowels measured the length and width of the cake.
- glue gun
- fondant – 1 box
- Butter Cream frosting
- Wilton Cake pan rectangular 11X19x2″
- 3D bear wilton bear pan
- Wilton star tip
- Luster Dust
- baby rattle
- party favor safety pins
I made a Crib baby shower cake for my niece’s baby shower. I made 2 11×19″ rectangular cakes. I used the bear 3D cake pan from Wilton. I stacked the 11×19″ cakes frosted with pink butter cream frosting to resemble a blanket. I added some luster dust for glitter effect, then frosted the bear cake using the star tip. I then frosted the front white to resemble a diaper and placed the safety pins on both sides of the diaper, then placed the rattle in the bears hand.
The crib bars are plastic dowels glued together using a glue gun, wrapped around, then for design is rolled fondant. Then, using the star tip, I made different colored flowers for the border and on the posts of the crib.
This cake was a hit to say the least ! I had a fun time making this cake and have had requests from family and friends to make it for them.
