Homemade Barbie 9th Birthday Cake
Hello Everyone. I came across this site just by pure chance.A ll the pictures and tips mentioned here inspired me so much that I just had to try it out. My daughter got so excited when I told her that I was going to make one for her 9th birthday. I read almost all the write ups in the site carefully and assimilated ideas from different cakes.
I used a Pyrex bowl for the skirt and a round pan for the base. The Barbie was my daughter's. I removed the legs and stuck it on top of the cake, then I started frosting and decorating. It took me almost half a day to do it, but then I did take breaks in between. I first frosted the cake using Pillsbury Creamy Supreme. I let it cool then I used whipped cream (white) and covered the whole cake. Then I divided the cream and gave it different colours (pink,blue,yellow....).
For the decorations I used my own imagination and VOILA the coolest homemade Barbie 9th birthday cake (according to my sweet daughter and her friends) was ready. It broke my heart to see it being cut though :-)
