Cute Homemade Pink and White Barbie Birthday Cake with a Happy Birthday Banner

I made this Barbie Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 5th Birthday. She wanted a Barbie cake that looked more like her, so I used her Mulan doll. I baked 2 8in. round cakes and 1 cake in a pampered chef batter glass bowl. I used white butter cream frosting between the 3 layers and as a crumb coating all over. I made white marshmallow fondant with regular marshmallows and pink MMF with strawberry marshmallows.

I rolled 5 8 inch “logs” and placed each on vertical from waist to the bottom and that made the pleats in the dress once the fondant was placed over it. I used the white butter cream frosting and cut out pink fondant flowers to embellish the fondant dress and trim the bottom of the dress. I made jewels out of the strawberry MMF and trimmed the jewels with butter cream frosting on a little mirror for the Birthday candles.

I got the idea for the sign that Mulan is holding from this site, so thank you to the poster that submitted that photo!
