Barbie Doll Cake
I created this Barbie Doll cake for my friend's birthday party. Knowing that it was a large event and that I had only made one Barbie cake previously, (the week before I made one for my daughter"s birthday), I was pretty nervous.
The dress was a replication of the dress she would be wearing to the event. This party was also the launch of her non-profit organization, Step Into The Beat, a charity that gets urban youth off the streets and into the dance studios! This Barbie cake actually danced in circles until the end of the night!
It was pictured on 944.com and was the talk of the party, even the past mayor of San Fransisco Willie Brown was telling me how much he loved it! I got many of the decorating tips off this website. I also used marshmallow fondant instead of traditional because it tastes yummy and is actually easier to work with! Now I am making cakes for more events!
