Cute Homemade Barbie Doll Birthday Cake Idea with Cupcakes

I made this Barbie Doll Birthday Cake Idea using a Dolly Vardon tin. I found that the Barbie’s legs were too long for the cake and she stuck out the top so I added more icing to the top and then joined it together with a row of icing love hearts (no body knew). I also buggered up the back icing so I put another layer on the back to make it look like a train on the dress.

I cut out various shapes and stuck them on her skirt, covering any marks. Finally I made a shawl from left over icing to put over her shoulders to tie the whole thing in together. I found that sticking to a colour theme helps make it look better too.

This cake looks way better than it started out!! Excellent for a beginner like myself!! Cup cakes were basic vanilla and I used the extra icing cut outs and put them on top. I used wires to stand up the number ‘4’s on the cup cakes for a 3D effect. Hope you like.
