Barbie Doll Cake
I made this Barbie Doll cake for my daughter's first birthday. She loves anything girly, so I looked online to see what kind of cake I could make her. I saw all the beautiful cakes on here and said I should give it a try.
I used 2 boxes of white cake mix. I used a Pyrex bowl and round pan. I stacked the cakes and made a whole for Barbie. For the first time I tried the fondant. I had a hard time trying to get the fondant big enough to cover the cake, I guess I needed more of it. I ran out of icing for the bottom of the dress to cover the wrinkles at the bottom.
Other than that it was pretty easy. I used white peppermint beads from Walmart for her top of the dress and also put them in the flowers on her skirt. I wish I would have sculpted the cake better for her dress but, next time I will know more about it.
My daughter kept saying Daddy my doll my doll. She is so proud of her cake. Have fun!
