Sleeping Beauty Barbie Doll Cake

I made this Barbie Doll cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday. She LOVED it! I knew she would since she just adores Sleeping Beauty. I used this site for all my ideas & helpful tips.

I used the Pampered Chef mixing bowl for the dress. I baked 2 cakes with it & cut the bottom off of one & sat the full one on top of the slice I cut. That added more height to the dress so there was plenty on room for the doll. I think I had a 2-3 inch slice on the bottom. I needed just a little more so I had to bake another round cake for just a little more height.

To get the frosting so smooth, I did a thin layer of frosting & put in the freezer for like 10 minutes. Then added another layer. Froze it again & then used a piece of paper to smooth the lines down in the frosting.

I left her dress on so I didn't have to frost the top. I also made cupcakes for everyone so we had plenty to go around.
