Homemade Barbie Dress Cake

My daughter, Ella, wanted a Barbie Dress Cake for her 5th birthday so I went online to get ideas and stumbled on this site. I got some very good ideas and started planning. My friend and I made it together using two 8" cake pans and one cake made in a Pyrex bowl. Luckily I made cupcakes as something extra because when we put it together it wasn't tall enough, so we cut some of the cupcakes in half to make an extra layer.

Unfortunately she was still too tall so we did end up taking her legs off, but it worked out. We used homemade frosting and star tips, I'm not sure which ones. The whole bodice and her necklace is made out of icing also. It turned out pretty good, we got lots of compliments and Ella loved it.
