Coolest Homemade Baseball Cake for Father’s Day

I made this baseball cake for my husband for Father’s Day this year! He plays baseball and loves our English bulldog Rocco, which was this cakes inspiration!

I made the baseball cake using a Wilton ball cake pan. The cake itself was a triple chocolate fudge cake. I then covered it in homemade buttercream frosting followed by homemade marshmallow fondant. (I would definitely recommend using Marshmallow Fondant! It tastes so much better than store bought, and is a lot easier to work with!) Finally I added the baseball details by piping on red colored buttercream frosting.

The miniature figurines of my husband and our dog are made out of more homemade marshmallow fondant that I colored with Wilton icing coloring. I added some personal details such as their names and player numbers on the backs of their jerseys also using fondant.

I wish I had had a little more time to get really creative, but I think it turned out cute! It was a big hit with my husband!
