Homemade Blues Clues Cake

I did this Blues Clues cake for my son's second birthday. Blues Clues things were hard to find. I had found some cakes online but did not want to make Blues body because that was a lot of blue frosting.

So I made two white 9x13 cakes and stacked them. I made buttercream frosting and used that for most of the cake. I used the gel food coloring to tint the icing because don't have to use as much and it doesn't effect the taste. I did buy a tube of the gel frosting from the store to outline Blue.

To make Blue I printed off a picture from the internet, cut her out and traced it with a toothpick.

It turned out very cute and my son loved it! I decorated around the cake with books that we already owned (one happened to be Blues Birthday)and just bought two different colors of blue plates and napkins. I also put paw prints all over the table cloth around the cake for a little extra decoration.
