Homemade Blues House Birthday Cake

My baby loves Blues Clues! Only Blues Clues is not fresh anymore, so it's really hard to find things pre-made. I spent a fortune on Ebay trying to collect the right figurines.

This Blues House Birthday Cake was my first cake ever, so it had some "flaws", but that was OK because everyone could see that I was trying to do something special for his 1st birthday.

The cake had two layers on the bottom and two half layers on the top. As you can see, I just iced the room scene pink, and the rest of the cake is a blue color. I got the cool striped candles at Wal-mart and thy fit perfect with Blue's Clues theme.

Also, I used Candy Letters. They just seemed to go. Like I said, this was my first attempt and I didn't want to try to pipe letters, but actually the candy kinda made me laugh, sorta an old school throwback to some birthday cakes when I was a kid.

People liked the cake and that's all that matters! It tasted good too by all accounts! The house is a cookie. I decorated it and then stuck it to the cake with icing. It's on the back, so I don't know if you'll be able to see it.
